We Will Not Forget

Our nation is built on sacrifice and strength.

National innocence was destroyed on September 11, 2001 when an insanely fanatical group of terrorists invaded our country and ruthlessly killed over 3,000 of our own. As we mourned each life lost, America looked deep into its collective heart for compassion, into its soul for courage, and to its armed forces for strength. It was brought to mind - loud and clear - that our Constitution and all that makes this country great, its spirit of freedom, compassion and generosity, is not contained within steel and concrete, and cannot be destroyed by the fire of anger and jealousy. These unconscionable attacks created a defining moment for America and for her next great generation of American Warriors. Proudly putting their lives on the line, these brave men and women have taken up arms against the most unconventional enemy ever faced by this or any other civilized nation. We rely on their strength and courage to fight those responsible for terroristic atrocities and to keep our nation safe from harm.

The Armed Forces, and the families of the young men and women in harm's way, have made this sacrifice and borne the burdens for us, as they always do. Our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines are a tough, proud bunch. They are spending years - not just months - away from their families. They are serving under conditions of hardship, loneliness, fear and danger - tour after tour, year after year - keeping us safe. What our military people do every day, under the most hazardous conditions and without complaint, deserve our unified respect and support as a country. And when they pay the ultimate cost with their precious lives, we need to remember them…and the loved ones they left behind.

America's Child was established for the sole purpose of providing college education and welfare assistance to every child whose military parent gave their life to protect us from the horrors they faced on a daily basis. We are committed to providing assistance to the surviving children of our military heroes who have already given their lives in patriotic service to their country fighting our nation's war against terrorism as part of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and the Philippines, Operation Iraqi Freedom or future conflicts.
